On September 17, 2013, Edward Joseph Sr. departed this life and began his eternity in the presence of Jesus Christ. Most assuredly Ed met up with the love of his life, his wife Betty, who left here a little over two years ago. He no doubt is rejoicing with her and his granddaughter, Tracey Tucker, who left here right before Betty.
Ed was a
veteran of the Army as a Private First Class and served overseas in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He grew up in Charleston and was a retired iron worker of Local 301.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ada Mae Joseph. Left to mourn his passing, but rejoice at his home going are his son, Edward Jr. and his wife, Patti; daughter, Debbie and her husband, Wendell Brown; daughter, Tammy and her husband, Jack Tucker, and son, Robert; his sisters, Eunice Skeens and Mary Smally. Ed's grandchildren, Darren (Rachel) Brown, Tabitha Brown, Amber (Joe) Wolfe, Katie Tucker, April (Danny) Williams and Brandon (Bethany) Daniel, will miss him deeply. Also left behind are three great-grandchildren, Owen, Weston and Lawson Brown; six step great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Jack Tucker officiating. The burial followed the service with military rites in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
