One Utah soldier Friday was reported killed when his training plane crashed in Texas.

Aviation Cadet Godfrey was killed Tuesday at Stamford, Texas, when his plane crashed during a routine training flight. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Godfrey of 493 East Fifty-sixth South street. His wife is the former Catherine Burbidge, whom he married in the Salt Lake L D S temple in August 1942. She had been living with him at his station.

He entered the service in September, 1942, and entered flying training in February, 1943. He received training in Oklahoma and at San Antonio, Texas. The cadet is a graduate of Murray high school.

He was born in Murray August 9, 1920.

Surviving are his widow and parents and the following brothers and sister: William R. and Henlen Godfrey of Murray, and Joseph S. Godfrey, serving in the navy.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the South Cottonwood LDS ward chapel, with Bishop Marlowe L. Crabtree officiating. Burial will be in the Murray city cemetery.
