KELLER, Martin F., age 90, Bangor, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Borgess Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Martin was born March 9, 1927 in Alpena, MI, the son of Andrew and Genevieve Keller and had lived in the Bangor area the past 65 years.

Martin was very active in the Jaycees, softball leagues, and Fourth of July activities in his early years. Following retirement one of his greatest joys was serving the less fortunate, even if it meant using his own personal funds. This was evident through his love and dedication to the food pantry and St. Vincent de Paul. It gave him great pleasure making up food baskets and distributing them, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

He was a member of the DDA in Bangor and helped organize and run many community activities. He felt that Bangor was a wonderful community to live in and believed it would become a powerhouse of business once again. He loved all the people he worked with on committees; he even delighted in getting up early on Saturday mornings for his mens group at church.

Martin honorably served his country as a member of the US Army serving during WWII. He had been a long time member of Sacred Heart Church. His greatest love was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved reliving tales of his childhood, telling jokes, writing poems, letters and watching Tigers baseball.

Surviving are his 3 children, Deb (Greg) Seymoure, Kate Keller and Mark (Tracy) Keller; 7 grandchildren, Michelle (Clark) Keefer, Jason Wesaw, Meghan (John) Kennon, Brian (Amanda) Seymoure, Bradley (Jennifer) Seymoure, Autumn Keller, Kody Keller; 11 great grandchildren, Aria, Avery, Kadyn, Devin, Sophia, Taylor, Hudson, Pia, Brayden, Joseph, Lily; 2 brothers, Dr. James (Charlotte) Keller and Joseph (Ruth) Keller; a sister-in-law Kate Keller; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joy, his parents and a brother Dr. Robert Keller.

The family will meet friends on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM with a Rosary service at 7:30 PM at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Fr. German Perez Celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Arlington Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
