She was born about 1648 in Schwaigern, Heilbronn, Duchy of Wurttemberg, Holy Roman Empire ( German) (now Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany) to Martin and Barbara (Bartenschlag) Rufflin. She died there on 27 December 1689, and was buried in the churchyard of (known then as) St. Anne & St. John the Baptizer Church in Schwaigern. She married Johann Michael Willheit, son of Johann Georg and Barbara (Lutz) Willheit, on 3 November 1668 in Schwaigern. Maria and Michael were parents of eleven children: Infant Daughter Stillborn, Anna Maria died an infant, Johann Michael (twin), Matthias (twin) died an infant, Barbara, Elisabetha, Anna Katharina, Johann Georg, Susanna, Infant Daughter stillborn, and Anna Maria died 7 days (The mother, Anna Maria died giving birth.) (Children believed to be in order of birth.)
