Clifford "Brownie" Brown, 76, died Monday, Sept. 18, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born Nov. 1, 1912 in Princeton and resided at Mt. Carmel, Ill. Brown was a member of the First Christian Church and the Moose Lodge of Mt. Carmel. He married Mary E. Peterson on Aug. 8, 1935 in Mt. Carmel.
Preceding in death were his parents, Oscar and Lottie (LaGrange) Brown; a sister, Audrey Brooks; and two brothers, Louis and Chester.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jack, Bud and Bill, all of Mt. Carmel; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Short Memorial Chapel in Mt. Carmel. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
