Mrs. Herma Farley, 78, 307 N. Mississippi, Blue Grass, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, following a brief illness. Services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. The Rev. Glen Johnson, of the Blue Grass Presbyterian Church will officiate. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Blue Grass Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery.
Mrs. Farley was born Aug. 20, 1906, at Strawberry Point, Iowa, a daughter of Herman and Leah Lamphier Axtell. She married Donald O. Farley in 1934 at Strawberry Point. he died in 1960. She was a member of the Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, the United Presbyterian Women's Association, Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She had been active in the Scott County Cancer Association and the American Heart Fund Association for many years. She was a teacher in the Buffalo and Blue Grass schools. She had served as a member of the board of directors of the Blue Grass Savings Bank since 1961.
Survivng are two sons, Elton Farley and Dr. Marvin Farley, both of Blue Grass; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Reeves, Decorah, Iowa; and three grandchildren.
