Mrs. Margaret Sophia Midlam, 87, of Rt. 98, east of Marion, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday in Jane M. case Hospital in Delaware of complications from a hip fracture she suffered Saturday. Her husband, Carl O., died in 1959, in Bend, Ore.

Born June 8, 1880, in Marion County, she was a daughter of Jacob and Mary Krause Hecker. She was a member of Prospect St. Methodist Church, auxiliary to Spanish War Veterans and Claridon Farm Women’s Club.

Surviving are five sons, Lowell C., Donald S., and Joh E. of Delaware, Charles E. of Tampa Fla., and Forrest D. of El Cajon, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Jean E. Hall of State College, PA.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Susie Reidenbaugh, Mrs. Lena Zuck and Mrs. Edith Wanner of Marion, and a brother, Vern Hecker of Meeker. A son is deceased.

Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.n. in Hughes-Deming Mortuary Rev. Benjamin V. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
