"Estelle R. Innocent Latham Estelle Bunny Rathbun Nelson Innocent, 91, of Latham, beloved wife of the late John Innocent and the late John F. Nelson, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the Albany Memorial Hospital. Born and educated in Lafayette, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Henry H. and Estelle Masters Rathbun. She attended Syracuse University for two years and later spent one year at St. Lawrence College. She was a graduate of Phelps Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Tarrytown, New York. in 1961. She lived in Westchester County for many years and moved to Latham in 1972. She worked as a secretary in the admissions department of Siena College for many years until her retirement. She previously was a dispatcher for the Town of Colonie Fire and Police Stations at the Town Hall. She worked for several years as the secretary to the president of the Bankers Commission of New York State. When living in Westchester, she was the only L.P.N. who was in charge of the emergency room at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains. She also was an executive secretary at General Foods Corporation in White Plains. She was a member of the Verdoy Ladies Auxiliary Fire Company. A member of the North Colonie Ambulance Squad, she was the first woman to ride nights on the squad. She was a member of the Good Sams Club, the Colonie Senior Citizens and also a member of the Circle Crafts Group. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Survivors include her loving children, Elaine A. (Larry) Byers of Harahan, Louisiana, Sharon E. (William) Honegger of Hawthorne, New York, Marilynn R. (Andrew) McGrorty of Babylon, New York; her son-in-law, Edward Delehanty of Latham; also survived by ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Gail E. Delehanty on May 28, 2004; her sisters, Edith Roberts and Josie Cornish; her brother, Hank Rathbun Jr. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 9:15 A.M. from the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham and at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Colonie."
