SMITH, Mr. Judson Marlin "Juddy", of Shelby AL passed away July 8, 2005 at Shelby Baptist Hospital. Mr. Smith was a native of Montgomery where he graduated from the University of Alabama, Class of 1962, and served in the U.S. Navy for 29 years where he served as a Naval Commander. He was a resident of Slidell, La., for 20 years, he moved to Shelby two years ago. He was a member of Eastaboga Baptist Church and a member of the VVA. He is survived by his wife, Theresa T. Smith of Shelby; three daughter's two sisters, Emma A. Smith of Montgomery and Carolyn S. Frantz of Pinson; and three brothers, the Rev. Andrew L. Smith, David Smith and Willard Smith, all of Montgomery. Members of the U.S. Navy were active pallbearers. His nephews were the honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Lung Association. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega directed the service which was held on July 10, 2005 at the Eastaboga Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Rodney Prickett and the Rev. Andrew L. Smith officiating.
