Eugene Stanley, 89, of Hamburg, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mr. Stanley was a life long resident of Hamburg and Ashley County. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired carpenter. He loved his church and a very active and faithful member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he had the time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Shelton and Anna Knight Stanley; two brothers, Willard and Shelton Stanley Jr. and three sisters, Ruby Culp, Stella Craig and Elsie Craig.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jerelene Wooten Stanley; three sons, Bobby Stanley and wife, Jan, Billy Stanley and Mike Stanley and wife, Anita, all of Hamburg; three daughter, Dolores Pruitt and husband, Harold, Connie Nelms and husband, Curt, all of Crossett and Phyllis Bell and husband, George, of Oklahoma; a brother, J.B. Stanley of Hamburg; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. John Williams and Bro. Kevin Logue. Burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Stanley, James Martin, Ricky Pruitt, Rodney Pruitt, Randy Pruitt and Chris Carrithers. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Mac Stanley, Lane Culp, Bruce Culp, Royce Culp, Larry Craig, Bimbo Meeks and Eugene Roberts. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 803 Ashley 95 Road, Hamburg, AR 71646.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church
