--4th child of Charles Alexander Hudspeth and wife Susan L. Small.
--Occupation: Farm laborer on the family farm in Iredell County in 1920. Elevator Engineer in Charlotte in 1930. By 1935, he was an Elevator Engineer at Cannon Mills. He continued to work in the machine shop and yard at Cannon Mills until retirement.
--Clyde married Maxie Ballard. They had 2 sons: Charles Clyde Hudspeth, Jr. and Herman Hudspeth.
--Cause of death: coronary occlusion.
