Graveside services for LaVerne Freeman, 96, of Manor Care Health Services, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Kankakee Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dr. Donald Linnell will officiate.
Mrs. Freeman died Sunday (Jan. 3, 1999) at Manor Care.
She was born Nov. 30, 1902 in Glasford, the daughter of John and Kathryn Homan Galloway.
Her husband, Lyman H. Freeman Sr., whom she married Nov. 1, 1920 in Decatur, is deceased.
She worked in sales at Chicago Store, Lecours and Samuels, all in Kankakee.
She was affiliated with Immanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Emily K. Murphy of Kankakee; two sisters, Elva Galloway and Freide Ganson, both of Peoria; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are brothers, George, Laurel and Keith Galloway; a sister, Mable Chamberlain and a son, Lyman H. Freeman Jr. in 1986.
