KELLOGG, Dr. James E. 66, Tampa, passed away March 11, 2014. Jim is survived by his wife Christine; son, Brian; brothers Theodore, Daniel and Michael and an extended family that will miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rita and Chuck, and his older brother Thomas. During the Vietnam War, Jim served in the Navy as a medical corpsman, an experience that Jim credits with helping him find his true vocation in healing the human body. This love for healing guided Jim through the years to achieve distinction and advanced degrees in physical therapy, chiropractics, and medicine. His life's work varied from sports medicine with professional athletes to teaching and clinical research at the university level to aiding recovering spinal surgery patients. Jim continued to work on spinal surgery patients with a full day schedule for years in spite of the cancer, and he is grateful to all who realized that Jim's abilities and his passion for healing transcended his battle with cancer. Per Jim's wishes, he wants to be remembered for his life's work and not for his death. His hope is that his family, friends, patients, students, and loved ones will celebrate his life in their own fashion. Reflecting the impact that his military experience had on his life and the lives of those around him, following his cremation his ashes will be placed at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL.
