June Hattie Freeman passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. She was born in Nelson County to the late Dwain Taylor Allen and Hattie Rose Johnson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Catherine Lawrence, Janet Johnson, Elsie Barker, Helen Johnson, Edward Johnson and Cosby Johnson. June leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Gloria J. Veney, Georgia Mae Brown and Edward S. Brown; one brother, William Johnson (Sarah); a devoted niece, LeRussell Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Geneva Randolph; 10 grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at St. James Baptist Church, Nelson County with the Rev. David Brown, Pastor, officiating. The interment will be at the church cemetery. Due to the wishes of June Hattie Freeman there will be no public viewing. Condolences may be sent to www.Davis-Turner.com.
