Gerald A. Griffith, 77, of Owatonna, Passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Owatonna Hospital with his family by his side.
Gerald was born on July 10, 1935 in southern Iowa to Norris and Dorothy (Trapp) Griffith. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1954. After high school he attended the University of Minnesota before joining the National Guard in which he served for 8 years. He married Irene Anderson on February 29, 1964 at the United Methodist Church in Owatonna. Gerald worked as a custodian at Wenger Corporation for over 30 years until he retired. He enjoyed mowing lawn and working outdoors but above all else he loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Irene, children, Gary (Christine) Griffith, Hastings, MN, Annette Griffith, Solon Springs, WI, Kevin (Salve) Griffith, Vallejo, CA, Randy (Brittany) Griffith, Eden Prairie, MN, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brothers Gene (Laura) Griffith, Owatonna, MN, Norris (Georgia) Griffith Jr, Eden Prairie, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Norris and Dorothy Griffith.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior at United Methodist Church in Owatonna, MN with Pastor Loren Olson officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the United Methodist Church of Owatonna.
