Janet Lynn Kauer, the daughter of Idan and Doris Kauer, was born on June 7, 1960 in Belleville, and died on October 15, 1974 at the age of 14 as the result of an auto pedestrian accident in Brighton, Colo.
Janet lived in Belleville and attended first grade in Belleville schools and then moved with her family to Brighton, Colo., in 1967. She attended schools in Brighton and was active in school activities. She was a member of the marching band and stage band and at the time of her death she had been chosen as a band majorette.
She is survived by her parents, brothers, Randy and Ronnie, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Benyshek and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kauer of Cuba, great-grandmother, Bessie Havel.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 19, 1974 at the United Presbyterian church of Cuba, conducted by the Reverend Fred Mansfield. Interment was made in National (Kopsa) Bohemian cemetery.
