OBITUARY-
ADAMS -- A Mass of Christian burial will be offered for Elizabeth King at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. King, 97, of Adams, died Monday (April 21, 1997) at Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville, Iowa.
Elizabeth Koenigs was born Nov. 23, 1899, in Adams Township, Mower County, and attended school in rural Adams. She lived and worked in Chicago for many years before returning to Adams to care for her mother. In 1949 she married Edmund King at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. Her husband died in 1965. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Her brother and sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Adams Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. today.
