Elizabeth D. "Betty" Rhoads, age 89, of Richmond, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Friends Fellowship Community. Born October 5, 1924, in Haddonfield, New Jersey, to John W. and Laura Elizabeth German Danenhower, Betty had lived in Richmond since 1960. She was a 1942 graduate of Moorestown Friends School and a 1946 graduate of Mount Holyoke College. Betty loved God and was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was very involved with the Richmond Chapter of the D.A.R. and she volunteered many hours of service with the Reid Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Laurie Diane Rhoads of Arlington, Texas; granddaughter, Danielle Church of Elizabethton, Tennessee; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Rhoads, who died in 2008; daughter, Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Rhoads; parents; and brother, John C. Danenhower III.
