Alice Marie (Osborne) Walton departed this life Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Jackson Memorial Church of God In Christ, Elder E.E. Marks, officiating.
Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home.
Evangelist Walton was born December 19, 1930 to the late Marion and Alice Osborne. She was the third child of six sisters and two brothers. She was saved under the leadership of Elder Andrew Jackson.
She was a 1948 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was a Homemaker.Church participation included Jr. Secretary and the YWCC. She was a member of the choir and along with her sisters became The Osborne Trio.
She married the late Samuel Woodard, Sr. and was the mother of three girls and two boys. Later she married Elder Henderson Walton. Through their ministry she became an Evangelist Missionary and was elected Lady of the Wichita Falls District Evangelist Department.
Left to cherish her memory includes Barbara DeLuceia, Dorothy Mergerson (Wayne), Samuel Woodard, Jr. (Eloise) and Jo Ann Hansboro Smith; sisters, Bernice Hood of Detroit, MI, Hazel Williams (Ed) of Wichita Falls; thirteen grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
