Leo Mario Alchimisti, Jan. 3, 1927 - June 18, 2010, resident of Los Altos Hills, passed away on June 18 at his home, after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and dedicated care givers. Leo was a devoted husband to his wife of 58 years, Mildred. Father to four children Nancy, Paul, Cindy and Jerry, their spouses, Doug, Kim, Gary and Diana, and their grandchildren Garrett, Melissa, Matthew and Emma. Leo was born on January 3, 1927 to parents Ciro and Pauline Alchimisti. He grew up in San Francisco where he attended Mission High school, then later served in the US Army during WWII. After fulfilling his military service he worked at Electrical Appliance where he met and married his future wife Mildred. Leo went on to own and operate Advance Electrical Sales for 35 years, and co-owned Tag International for 18 years. He was intelligent, creative, determined, motivated and funny. Leo loved a joke and always had a one liner ready. Leo enjoyed traveling, gardening, golf, WWII history and watching the Giants and 49er's, and spending time with family. Leo's passing will leave a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him. His family will always love and miss him. A celebration of Leo's life will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, June 27 at Spangler Mortuary in Los Altos. A reception will follow at The Iron Gate Restaurant in San Carlos. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a donation in Leo's name to the American Cancer Society.
