An American missionary, on the coast of Africa, 3 Oct 1820. See Vital Records of Rhode Island, 1636-1850 Vol 20, page 546.

Died at Kent, Cape Shilling, Liberia. Son of Ephraim Bacon & Hannah Chamberlain Bacon.

Appointed on Sep 1813 as First Lieutenant and Quartermaster U.S. Marine Corps in the War of 1814.

A former teacher, attorney and recently ordained Episcopal priest, died of fever in Liberia. Bacon was working with the American Colonization Society.

Husband of Anna Mary Barnitz Bacon (5 Aug 1789 – 28 Aug 1815), married 6 Jan 1814 in Pennsylvania. Father of Jacob Barnitz Bacon (10 Mar 1815 - 18 May 1896).
