CADIZ — Lena Oliver Proffitt, 85, Cadiz, died at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, at her home of natural causes.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry Mitcheson and Lindsey Boren officiating. Burial will be in the New Jerusalem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 this afternoon.
A native of Trigg County, she was born Sept. 26, 1918, the daughter of the late Fount and Lucy McCormick Oliver. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Light Baptist Church.
Her husband, Hayden Proffitt, died in 1982.
Survivors include six sons, Linzie, Paul, Terry and Jerry Proffitt, all of Cadiz, Harry Proffitt, St. Louis, Mo., Darrell Proffitt, Eddyville; two daughters, Rosemary Lamkin, Tampa, Fla., Lois Hargrove, Cadiz; a sister, Virginia Oliver, Cadiz, 26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Pennyroyal Hospice, 101 W. 18th St.
