GUN WOUND CLAIMS MAN WITH CADIZ TIES

A Nashville, Tenn. man with ties to Cadiz has died after receiving a gunshot wound in Nashville.

Mark Edgar Keeling, 28, died at 6:50 pm Saturday at General Hospital, Nashville.

Keeling was found suffering from a gunshot wound around 6:30 pm Saturday in an alley behind an apartment on Lewis Street in Nashville, according to Sgt. Charles Griffin of the Nashville Police Department.

Griffin said the homicide is still under investigation. He declined to comment on the type of weapon used or the location of the wound.

At mid-morning, no arrests had been made yet, according to Griffin.

Services for Keeling will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz, with the Rev. Johnny Hawkins officiating and burial in New Jerusalem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 this afternoon at the funeral home.

A native of Portsmouth, Va., he was born March 3, 1965, the son of James Harvey and Dee McAndrew Keeling, Cadiz. He was employed by Nash-Ero, Nashville, and was a Baptist.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a son, Mark Bradley Keeling, Nashville; a brother, James E Keeling, Nashville; a sister, Sherri Mathis, Old Hickory, Tenn.; a maternal grandmother, Imogene McAndrew, Nashville; and a maternal great grandmother, Myrtle Fackle, Nashville.
