Hello Robert.
I live in Gorleston and research for our local Heritage Group. I can assure you there was a Richard Ward living here during the late 1500's when he was a ''Chiever'' (steward elected from the chief tenants)) who collected the yearly rents. He is in the memorandum book for 1595. Also St. Mary Magdalene Church in Gorleston was founded in 1957 and has no graveyard. Our oldest is St. Andrews Church.
Kind regards.
