Pennsylvania. Jacob, a miller & farmer, was an active citizen in Pennsylvania. Near the end of the War of 1812 as captain of his company he participated in the Great Lakes conflict. His brothers Allen & George served along side him.
He married Barbara Troutman in 1887 in Fayette County. Pennsylvania and in 1818 moved to Wayne Co Ohio. Their first home was next to Trinity Church where Jacob was later buried. Between 1818 and 1829 they had five children. Jacob was an elder in the Apple Creek Presbyterian Church, and active in a building campaign in the 1840's for that church. He had property, was a miller and farmed the land. He served as Justice of the Peace, trustee and County Treasurer. Then in about 1850 Jacob and Barbara sold their land holdings to their sons and moved to VanBuren County, Iowa. The Troutman family was establishing themselves in Iowa as was their son Samuel. " Barbary" died there in in Oct 1853.
After Barbara's death Jacob returns to Wayne County Ohio and marries, third, Hannah Fegty in 1856. Hannah died in March 1871 at the age of 75 and is buried with her 1st husband. Jacob died two years later.
