Tommy Jack " T.J. " Davidson was born on the 25th day of April, 1935 in Rockwall, Rockwall County,Texas. He passed away peacefully on March12th, 2014,in Gainesville, Cooke County, Tx surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service for Tommy Jack will be held Saturday March 15, at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Mark Davidson and Rev. Francis Barkley officiating with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday March 14, 2014 from 5:00 til 7:00 p.m at the funeral home.

Tommy Jack was the eldest of seven sons born to Tommie Lee Davidson and Flora " Jack " Shipley Davidson and lived most of his youth in Crandall, Tx. After high school, he continued his education by attending Henderson County Junior College in Athens, Tx, East Texas State University where he received his B. S. degree and the University of Kentucky earning his Masters Degree in Animal Science. After teaching ten years in the public school system. T.J. was given the opportunity to start an Agriculture Science Department at Cooke County Junior College. During his 39 year tenure as the Department Head he organized, hosted and sponsored many agriculture related events.

In addition to being a member of the Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas for 49 years as well as many other organizations he served the Cooke County Junior Livestock Show as general superintendent for 13 years.

Tommy Jack's love of teaching is only shadowed by his love for his family. His Children and his grand-children were the light of his life.He took great pride in their accomplishments and enjoyed watching them grow and develop their own passion for the agriculture field and animals.

In addition to his parents, T.J. was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Edward Davidson.

On March 10, 1955 Tommy Jack married the love of his life Joy Butler. Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters Tammy Davidson Glascock and husband Randy of Pilot Point, Tx Nancy Davidson, of Gainesville, Tx; Granddaughter Rachel Glascock and grandson Thomas Glascock of Pilot Point Tx, brothers John S. Davidson and wife Marilee of Crandall, Tx Ronnie Davidson and wife Betty Ruth of Commerce, Tx sSteve Davidson and wife Sally of Lorenza, Tx Rickey Davidson and wife Marsha and Mark Davidson and wife Carrie of Valley View Tx sister in law Betty Babovec and husband Albert Lee, brother in law Terry Butler as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Tommy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marietta, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions or donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Marietta Oklahoma building fund or the North Central Texas College agriculture scholarship fund in Gainesville, Tx or the charity of your choice.
