He was born on Sept. 20, 1945 to the late Jack and Marguerite Norris in Minden, LA. He graduated from Minden High School and Northeast Louisiana State University, Monroe, LA, with a bachelor's degree in education. Jerry retired from Atmos Energy after being employed with them for over 40 years. Jerry married Priscilla Turnbo Alexander in Pampa and they moved to Lubbock in 1992. Priscilla died on May 7, 2009. Jerry was a member of Victory Life Baptist Church. He enjoyed all outdoors activities such as camping, hiking and hunting. He was a gun enthusiast as well as an expert marksman.
Jerry was laid to rest beside Priscilla on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in the Fairview Cemetery, Pampa.
Survivors include three sons, Matthew Norris and wife Kristen of Lubbock, Chris Alexander and wife Lori of Lubbock and Mark Alexander and wife Denelle of Irving; five grandchildren, Joey and Jeffrey Alexander of Lubbock, Avery and Aden Alexander of Irving and Devyn Norris of Lubbock; a brother, James Norris and wife Mary Kay of Tyler and his twin sister, Judy Yarbrough of Shreveport, LA.
