Floyd, the son of Gustav and Lena (Johnson) Mjor, was born on December 5, 1928 in Hitterdal. He was raised and educated in Hitterdal.
Floyd was united in marriage to Lorna Stoll on August 4, 1951 in Moorhead. They made their home in Hitterdal and Floyd worked at American Crystal Sugar Company. Floyd and Lorna then moved to Detroit Lakes, where he began his career at Swift & Co. Lorna passed away in 1982.
Floyd married Lillian Amundson on March 20, 1987. He continued to work at Swift until his retirement in 1991. After Lillian passed away in 1994, Floyd continued to live at his home until moving to Pleasant View in 2004. He later moved to Oak Crossing in 2009 and resided there until his death.
Surviving Floyd are his two sons, James (Billie) Mjor of Bremerton, Wash., and Michael (Rose) Mjor of Buffalo, N.D.; daughter, Kathy (Ken) Carlson of Frazee; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ferne Mjor of Detroit Lakes and Adeline Mjor of Moorhead; special friends, Jon and Verla Hochstetler of Frazee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Floyd in death were his first wife, Lorna; second wife, Lillian; daughter, Lori Mjor; seven brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, at the Oak Crossing Chapel in Detroit Lakes, with visitation for one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
