COLUMBIA - Services for Dorothy Cunningham Quattlebaum, 92, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 1999 at Greenlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home Chapel 845 Leesburg Rd. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the home tonight (Wednesday) from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Quattlebaum died Monday, December 20, 1999 at her home. Born in Boissevain, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late George James Cunningham, founder of Cunningham Lumber Company, and Jessie Garfield Melville Cunningham. Mrs. Quattlebaum graduated from Chicora High School and Columbia College. She received her Masters Degree in English from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Quattlebaum was a loyal and devoted partner to her husband of 70 years, Dr. William Meritt Quattlebaum. They worked together to start up and develop a family owned international business. She loved to travel with her husband in Europe and America and they shared an adventurous spirit and many happy times.

Surviving are her husband, Dr. William Meritt Quattlebaum Jr. She was a wonderful mother to their three children: son, William Meritt Quattlebaum III of Columbia; daughters, Dorothy Elizabeth Quattlebaum Piron of Montreal, Canada and Rosemary Anne Lockwood Quattlebaum Sanford; grandchildren, Anne Q. Putnam, Grace Q. Stewart, Laura Q. Odom, William Marie-Christine Piron, Georges Piron, Erica Lockwood Sanford and Charles Hughes Sanford Jr..; great-grandchildren, Nathan Putnam, Katie Putnam, Shelby Putnam, Stephanie Stewart, Douglas Stewart, Bradley Stewart, Maxwell Paul Quattlebaum.
