Doris told me Charles Edward Barrett.Cemetery book reads Charles R. Barrett 1954 - 1956.There is ONE known photo of him.It is in the hands of Doris's granddaughter Mrs.Guest.If anyone else has a photo of them please e mail me a copy at [email protected]. I'm also looking for his obituary.
In a book called 30,638 burials in Georgia by Jeannette Holland Austin copy right 1995.Her book has the following information :
pg. 45 Lawerence Barrett Dec.1955 - July 7,1956 buried Mt.Creek Bapt. in Jackson co.
pg. 45 William Barrett 1949 - Sept. 1955 Mt.Creek Bapt. in Jackson co.
* Dates for the Lawerence Barrett seem to line up with Jimmie Lee Barrett Nov 13, 1955 - July 7, 1956, same burial location. & William lines up with William R. Barrett Sept 23, 1953 - Sept 23, 1953. I certainly need to get their death certs to confirm their dates and names from what their mother told me in 1998. *

On March 25,2005 I borrow these photos and scanned them.So,I now have a copy of this photo. The original photo is maybe a 11 by 14 and in a oval shape. Betty had kept these photos of her brothers above her bed.
I have went to Mt.Creek Baptist Church on April 9,2005 but no grave site found.So it appears to be unmarked.
On May 2,2005, Amanda and I went back to the cemetery.We found the location of their graves back in the woods behind their grandparents Floyd & Josie Rider Gaddis.We haven't found Charles's marker but we are certain it is their beside his brothers.The graves need to be cleaned off of all the trees,leaves etc. so after that we should be able to find his gravesite as well.
I was given the dates Nov. 22,1954 - July 5,1956 by Doris. Charles has a funeral home marker only that reads only 1954 - 1956. After doing a search online I have found a Charles Barrett who died on Jan. 16,1956 age 1 yr. who lived and died in Hall county, Georgia cert. # 3730. This could be the same child. Could this be another error by Doris ? after changing this death date it adds up to be the correct child being 1 year 2 months old. As of now 2005 the full death date is correct and the birth year is correct. The birth month & day was given by Doris, but may still be incorrect.

The funeral home was once the home of Harvey Hall, who is said to have gone to Brazil after the civil war. Then a Mr.Findley owned it. It was purchased by Hubert Vickers in 1933. It is now currently Strickland Funeral Home.
