Grace L. Whitney, the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Rodney Whitney, was born September 23, 1880. Five years ago she developed symptoms of tuberculosis and spent nearly a year at Star Lake, obtaining temporary relief. For the past year she has
been gradually failing in strength, and' breathed her last at her parents home near Sanfords Corners on April 6, 1908. Miss Whitney was of a sunny disposition, never complaining during her long illness, and always having a cheerful word for her many friends. Her funeral was largely attended from her parents residence on April 8th, Rev. Ceigler officiating.
Besides her parents she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eugene Conway and Mrs. Samuel Porter, and one brother, Homer Whitney, all of the town of Leray
