Carlos Cox, age 59, a native of Toddtown, departed this life March 4, 2014 at his Malcolm home, surrounded by his family. He was born to the parentage of Alma Todd Cox and the late Charlie Cox Sr. Earlier in life he was a member of Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church in Toddtown. Later he met and married Ida B. Davis. To this union three children were born.

He was a member of Lang's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in McIntosh.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his loving and devoted wife, Ida B. Davis Cox; son, Norman Cox; daughters, Amy Cox and Lacey Cox, all of Malcolm; his loving mother, Alma Todd Cox of Hawthorne, Calif.; brothers, Leo (Johnita) Cox and Charlie Cox Jr., both of Jackson; one sister, Carolyn Cox Nicholson of Hawthorne; three grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elroy Cox and Henley Cox; four sisters, Mary Cox King, Josephine Cox Henderson, Bernice Cox Williams and Annie Rose Cox Brunner.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, with viewing from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11, at Lang's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. The Rev. Harold Griffin is pastor and will be the officiating minister. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery in McIntosh. Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson. Condolences may be left for the family at www.jacksonmemorialfh.com.
