Martha Mildred Forbes, 102, of Richmond Hill, and formerly of Jacksonville, Fla, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Bryan County Convalescent Center.
She was born in Statesboro, Ga., and was preceded in death by her parents, James W. Forbes and Pidy Lee Forbes. She was a graduate of Jacksonville College, with an associate Degree, and she was employed by the U.S. Government at the Pentagon from 1941 - 1973, where she was a GS 11, and was Director of the Reservation , Housing , Defense and Transportation Department. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Fla, a member of the Pilot Club, and the Federal Retired Employees Union.
