Maggie Murlene Miller, 91, of Locust Grove passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital with her family at her bedside.

Murlene was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Bankston, Fayette County, Ala., to Grover C. and Lou Vena Brasher Lowery. She married Lawrence J. Miller in October 1965, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters from a previous marriage to the Rev. Benjamin J. Perkins, Esther R. Schaeffer and Mary E. Burrage (David L.); two step-daughters, Daryl Miller and Donna Ragland; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Murlene was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Family will meet friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home. A funeral will held at noon Wednesday, March 12, at the funeral home, with Chaplain Robert Shultz officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.

Casket bearers will be James Ricketts, T.J. Hinegardner, Philip Schaeffer, Jimmy Ricketts, Neal Thompson, Austin Ricketts and David Hinegardner.
