Thomas Lee Robinson, 83, passed away on March 8, 2014 at the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, Washington.

Tom was born on December 4, 1930 in Girard, Louisiana to father, John Bourgoyne Robinson, Sr. and mother, Ada Mae Robinson.

He served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 and the United States Marines from 1954 to 1957.

Tom met his wife Betty Rae while stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Station in 1954 and they were married in Ferndale, Washington in 1955.

Tom operated several businesses during his lifetime. Among them were Robinson's TV and appliance, Branch Manager of Sehome Real Estate Company in Ferndale and a custom home services business in Bellingham.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #154 in Ferndale and a past president of Toastmasters and the PTA. Tom enjoyed working, fishing, boating, hunting and camping. He loved his German Shepherd, Bud, and and enjoyed being with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Ada M. Robinson, Sr.; and two brothers, Lynn Vernon Robinson and John B. Robinson Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Rae; daughter, Linda Lee Robinson; son, Lester Lynn Robinson; grandchildren, Amanda and Cameron Robinson; sisters, Jo Robinson Truly, of Tyler, TX, and Ann Robinson Taylor, of Adel, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He will be greatly missed! A reception for family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Friday, March 14, in the Whatcom Room at Moles Bayview Chapel in Bellingham.

Memorials may be made to the PeaceHealth Cancer Center and Whatcom Hospice.
