Phyllis E. Haynes, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, surrounded by her family in Miller's Merry Manor, Marion, Ind.

Mrs. Haynes was born in Converse, Ind., on June 20, 1925, to the late D. E. "Red" and Velma (Gordon) Warnock.

Phyllis was a graduate of Converse High School, class of 1944. She married Robert "Biggie" Haynes on March 25, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1992.

Phyllis was an active member of Converse Church of Christ and the preschool. She had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Malott. Phyllis was an avid I.U. basketball fan and enjoyed making noodles and angel food cakes. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and family were the joy of her life.

Survivors include her son, Joe (Sharon) Haynes, Melbourne, Ky.; daughter Debbie (Sam) Lake, Converse, Ind.; daughter Cindy (Richard) Hiple, Swayzee, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers C. Gayle Warnock and William Warnock and sister Jeannie Prickett.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, in the Converse Church of Christ, 301 E. Wasbash St., Converse, Ind., with Pastor John Clark officiating.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at the Converse Church of Christ.

Burial will be in Converse Cemetery, Converse, Ind.
