Aletha Thelma Woodcock Mitchell, 79, of Votaw, died Monday, March 10, 2014, in Nederland. She was born May 12, 1934, in Port Arthur, the daughter of Delia Adaway and Floyd Woodcock.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Tony Mitchell of Votaw; sons, Kelcie Edward Achord and his wife, Vickie, Floyd Phillip Achord and Joseph Clayton Mitchell and his wife, Sherry; daughter, Margaret Elaine Harrison and her husband, Douglas; twenty grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Alice Bland and her husband, Pick and Sharon Woodcock.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Woodcock; and son, James Anthony Mitchell.

A gathering of Mrs. Mitchell's family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. An additional memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Thicket Church of God, 26942 Highway 787, Thicket, Texas.

Broussard's Mortuary of Nederland was in charge of arrangements.
