Mountain Eagle, February 28, 1894: "We regret to chronicle the death of Mr. David Manasco, which sad event occurred near Townley Sunday, and he was laid to rest there the following day by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. The deceased was a brother of our esteemed countyman, Gen. John Manasco, and if he had lived until March 22nd he would have been ninety-two-years-old, two years younger than Gen.
