Major League Baseball Player. In 1947 he was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent, and developed as a pitcher. His Major League career began in 1955 and lasted until 1962. In addition to the Cardinals he played for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and New York Mets, compiling a career record of five wins against thirteen loses and a career ERA of 5.03. After his playing days, Moford returned to his home in Bracken County, Kentucky, where he farmed and remained active in community affairs.
