Elena Marie (Guevara) Crilly, age 49, of Helena died of cancer Dec. 4, 2005, at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Elena was born in St. Albans, Vt., to Jose and Pat Guevara. She attended Carroll College and graduated from Northern Montana College with a nursing degree. She had worked as an RN and as the director of nursing in the Northern Hospital Emergency Room/ Intensive Care Unit for a total of 20 years and worked at St. Peter’s in Helena as director of Same Day Services and Patient Care Services. She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Bible study and the choir. She also worked as a volunteer for Mental Health Awareness, State of Montana Suicide Awareness, City of Havre RMT Training, and the Bicycle Safety Awareness Committee.
Her hobbies included quilting, spending time with family and helping others. She was always concerned with everyone else.
Survivors include her husband of 3½ years Mitchel Crilly of Helena; a stepson, Jeremy of Helena; her father, Jose, of Miles City; four sisters, Elise (Don) Westin of California; Myra Due, of Belgrade; Nancy (Bill ) Abel of Miles City; and Robin Crilly of Washington; and her two pets, Harper the puppy and Oscar the cat.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pat, and a brother, Steve, and Chester the dog.
Services will be held at Helena Funeral Chapel Thursday, Dec 8, at 11 a.m.
Memorials can be made to the American Foundation for Prevention of Suicide, KXEI radio of Havre, and St. Peter’s Foundation.
