Lawrence "Larry" W. Bigaouette, age 84 of Belle Plaine, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Kingsway Retirement Living in Belle Plaine. Memorial Mass will be at 11a.m. on Wednesday, March 12 at St. John's-Assumption Catholic Church in Faxon Township. Fr. Sam Perez will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday morning. A lunch will follow the Mass at church and there will also be a social gathering at Kingsway from 1:30-3:30p.m. after the lunch. Interment will be at a later date in Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
Larry was born in St. Paul on December, 27, 1929 to George and Ann (Wagner) Bigaouette. He grew up on the family farm in Blakeley and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. On September 15, 1951 he married Carol Lambrecht at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. Larry farmed his entire life and enjoyed talking about the crops, the weather, or a new canning recipe he was going to try. Larry was an avid dancer and enjoyed learning new songs on his button box. He loved a good laugh and was noted to pull a few pranks. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Dave.
Larry is survived by his wife, Carol; Son, Rick (Julie) Bigaouette of Prior Lake; Daughter, Debra (Tom Smiley) Murphy of Red Wing; Grandchildren, Nicholas (Michelle) Bigaouette, Jonathan (Allison) Bigaouette, Molly (Justin) Pinter, Shawn Murphy, Jessica Fogarty and Sara Effertz; Four Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Leo (Marilyn) Bigaouette of Belle Plaine; Sister, Mary Ann (Chuck) Lambrecht of California and Many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
