James Elwin Hendrickson took his final ride into the sunset on February 14, 2014 at approximately 2 p.m. he was 75 years old. He was born on April 2, 1938 in Rock Lake, ND the sixth child, of 12 children born to Hjalmer and Mary Hendrickson.

In his youth Jimmy was a Boy Scout and attended the Lutheran Church.

James (Jimmy, Jim, Pee Wee, the Little Cowboy) loved horses and was very involved with riding and training. He would ride horseback from North Dakota to Texas to harvest wheat and to round up cattle and herd them to auction. He was a horse jockey and trainer in Montana and California at Bay Meadows and Los Alamitos prior to his marriage to Aretta Rardon in 1959.

Jimmy worked for the Brombergs, Jim (J.B.), Bill, Bernice and Elma at Brombergs farm 10 miles East of Rolla, where they had dairy cows, horses and grain crops, he was also a member of the Trail Riders Club.

Jimmy proposed on Feb 14 1959 to Aretta Ellen Rardon, they married on June 3, 1959 in Perth, ND, and then headed to Modesto CA in June 1960 where he worked in the grape vineyards for Jim Sanders later he worked at Waddlers Milk processors. Jim started dairy farming in Modesto CA then moved to Hilmar CA in 1964. Later Jim and his family moved to Washington State in 1973 to live near his parents Hjalmer (Jack) and Mary Hendrickson, where he worked on dairy farms.

Jim and his family moved to Rolla, North Dakota in 1975 to be nearer his Aunt Stella and Uncle Wolford Halone, where he worked for Farmers Union Oil Co as a truck driver. Jim moved to Sacramento, Ca in 1983 where he studied and received his General Contractors License.

On August 3rd 2002 Jim suffered a heart attack that left him in a light coma and on February 14, 2014 he left peacefully to go home to our Lord.

He is survived by 4 sisters, Patsy Ruth Sanders, Gloria Jean Hendrickson, Sheila Faye Hendrickson, Carol Sue Edwards and 4 brothers, Thomas Lee Hendrickson, John (Jack) Charles Hendrickson, Larry Duane Hendrickson, and Michael Dale Hendrickson, his 3 daughters, Robin Gail Whyte, Reatta Ellen Hendrickson and Lyndell Rae Foster, and 6 grand-children Timothy Preston Pederson son of Robin, Dominic Hendrickson son of Reatta, Garret Hendrickson, Chanelle Hendrickson Marcellais, Kyle Hendrickson and Alysha Foster children of Lyndell, and 7 great grandchildren, Xavier, Zaiden, Andrew, Izayis, Luke, Adriana, Abrielle, Aaliyah and One Little Blessing due in May.

He was preceded in death by father Hjalmer Hendrickson, mother Mary Elizabeth Hendrickson, sister Sharon Kaye Hendrickson- Bragg, brothers Robert Clayton Hendrickson and Glen Joseph Hendrickson.
