Mr. Ben Dixon, 92, of Stigler died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Haskell County Hospital. He was born on January 9, 1922 in Monroe to Tom Dixon and Mary L. (Sappington) Dixon. He grew up at Stigler where he received his education. He then joined the U.S. Army and served bravely in World War II. After the war he married Lillie Patterson in Wilburton on December 7, 1946 and they made their home together in Stigler. He then began working for Garland Coal Company for 24 years before retiring in 1981. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverends Elbert Owens and Heath Cole officiating.
Burial will immediately follow at Garland Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
