Sharon Anne Harrington, daughter of Herman Henry and Frieda Leontina (Fauth) Peters, was born November 16, 1934 on a farm near Wagner, SD. She died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Community Memorial Avera Hospital in Wagner. Sharon attained the age of 79 years, three months and 21 days.
Sharon attended country school in the Wagner area through the eighth grade and then went on to earn her GED.
Sharon married Walter Fuerniss on October 7, 1951 at Wagner. A son was blessed to their union. Walter died November 9, 1952. She married Gene Harrington on February 10, 1954 at Wagner. Four children were blessed to their union. Gene died August 30, 1987.
Sharon worked in a meat department and at Kmart while living in South Bend, IN. After Walters death and her marriage to Gene, she owned the Delmont Inn for 18 years. She later worked in the laundry department at the Good Samaritan Society in Tripp.
Sharon was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Delmont City Council and the co-founder of the Delmont Library. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, game shows, gardening, her flower gardens and baking with her grandchildren. Her family will long remember the Saturday nights and the Sunday buffets at the Delmont Inn.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents and a brother, Gary.
