Patricia "Pat" Joan Wallis

Patricia "Pat" Joan Wallis, 84, passed away on March 9, 2014 at her home in Sweetwater.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church (Holy Spirit Catholic Parish) with Father Charles Okonkwo officiating.

Ms. Wallis was born in Clarksville, Illinois on July 9, 1929. Patricia married Robert "Bob" Wallis on October 4, 1947 in Marshall, Illinois.

She and Bob moved to Sweetwater from Illinois in September of 1957. Together, they owned Bob Wallis Chevron Service Station from 1962 until 1977 in Sweetwater and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Catholic Woman's Organization, and the Alter Guild Society.

She loved to play games with her family including Farkle, Skip-Bo, and putting puzzles together. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of a great-grandson due in July by her granddaughter, Ashley Headstream and Dee Jay Daniel, and twins due in April by her granddaughter, Amanda and Chris Gazalski. She was a very kind, loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.

Survivors include: 2 Daughters-Laura Headstream and her husband Jimmy of Sweetwater, Linda Slabaough and her husband Paul of Abilene; Son-Robert Eugene Wallis and his wife Darlene of Belton, TX; Sisters-Agnes Miller of Marshall, Illinois, Kay Miller of Palatine, Illinois, Mary Lucas of Frankfort, Illinois; Brother-Lawrence Staub of Hemet, California; and 3 Grandchildren-Ashley Headstream, Amanda Gazalski, and Robert Paul Slabaugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on September 11, 2004.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
