Bobby Ray McGee was born July 17, 1931 in Jayton, TX and passed into eternal peace on March 7, 2014 in Mesquite, Texas at the age of 82.
He is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Wayne McGee, parents, Larce Jackson (Hop) McGee, and Nora Grice McGee, brother, Raymond (Dink) McGee, sisters, Maedell Gibson, Opel Hall, Gladys McGee, Dorothy Green, Elsie Elliot, Faye McGee
Survived by his wife, Ruby Juanita McGee, of 60 years. Daughters, Belinda Walley and Susan Kannady. Grandchildren, Angela Oelschlaeger, Wendy Hylander, Michael Shane Watkins, Great grandchildren, Tia Adams, Sydnee Oelschlaeger, McKinna Oelschlaeger, Nicole Watkins, Dylan Watkins, Myah Gordon, Great-great granddaughter, Ellie Adams.
Bob McGee married his lifetime sweetheart, Ruby Juanita Clark almost 60 years ago. Born and raised in Texas, he was a true cowboy. On his army enlistment papers, he listed his occupation of "cow puncher."
He could always be found playing his guitar, driving the old church bus or tinkering under the hood of someone's truck.
He read his bible through 42 times. He loved being with God's people and was confident that when God called his name, he would be ready. He was a wonderful dad, a great Papaw and a good man. He will be missed.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Troy Suggs Funeral Home Chapel.
