Eunice Arlin "Rusty" Cain, age 99, passed away March 9, 2014, three weeks shy of his 100th birthday. Visitation will be today, 1-3 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with his son-in-law, Anthony Muston, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Rusty was born in Tishomingo County, Miss. on March 30, 1914, to the late Almedia Mann Cain and James Marshall Cain. He was married for 69 years to the late Onita Nunley Cain, who passed in 2008.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.
He is survived by his children, Frances Simpson (John), James Willis Cain (Linda), Arlin Dale Cain (Deanna), and Wanda Muston (Anthony); grandsons, Joey Simpson (Cindy), Robert Evans (Linda), Jason Cain (Laura), Jonathan Cain, Daniel Cain (Amanda), and Adam Muston (Bethany); granddaughters, Jackie Whatley (Cleve), Jennifer Hukari (Ray), and Brie Hollander (Drew); great- grandchildren, Nick Simpson, (Kristina), Mallory Willis (Heath), Marian Evans, Alexander Cain, Katelyn Muston, Chapel Cain, and Stella Hollander; and great-great-grandchildren, Adalyn Simpson and Caden Willis.
Mr. Cain was employed in the cast house at Reynolds Alloys for 30 years. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church of Tuscumbia. "Pap" enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his huge loving heart and his very impressive "sweet tooth."
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Mitchell Hollingsworth and Hospice of the Shoals for their loving care.
