Mr. Robertson died Sunday, March 9, 2014, in Lawton.

Mr. Robertson was born in rural Kiowa County, south of Mountain View, on June 22, 1930 to Homer C. and Bessie Robertson. He married Ruth M. Larrance on March 4, 1949 in Henrietta, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 12, 2000. He later married Barbara Carothers on February 8, 2002 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He grew up in Mountain View and moved to other areas around Lawton where he made his home. He was a 1948 graduate of Lawton High School and had played football. Following high school he followed in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer and built custom homes in the Lawton area. He worked At Larrance Tank Corporation in both the office and as shop manager configuring and bidding contracts for steel projects. He could accomplish anything he set his mind to, taking an idea and making it a reality. Together, with his partner Buddy Green, he purchased Larrance Tank and successfully operated the business until it sold.

He retired to enjoy life with Ruth and spend time with family, friends and relatives. Following Ruth's death and his marriage to Barbara he took several trips with their good traveling buddies, Shirley and Ken. He enjoyed his trips to Branson and Canada and being an avid fisherman, loved to go to Texoma and fish and enjoy time at the lake. He was a member of the Indiahoma United Methodist Church where he, with Barbara at his side, enjoyed Sundays with all the church members.

He really loved to fish and hunt with his brother Red and many other friends. He also liked auto racing and spent many weekends racing with his buddies at the Lawton Speedway. He was always watching NASCAR and golf on the television. If you called to ask what he was doing he answered "I'm just piddling" which meant he was working in his shop with his tools or just about anything that kept him busy.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; three daughters, Donna M. Caldwell, Lawton, Carol A. Dean and husband James, Elgin, and Janice L. Whitmire and husband Rick, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, George Robertson, Indiahoma, Oklahoma, and Clifford Robertson, Elgin, Oklahoma; two sisters, Sybil Ilene Smith, Lawton, and Patsy Brantley and husband Dan, Lillian, Alabama; five grandchildren, Mary Cotton, Lawton, Lindsay Jimenez and husband Rocky, Moore, Michael Regan, Lawton, Kegan Milstead, Dallas, and Grayson Whitmire, Dallas; three great grandchildren, Taylor J. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and other very close friends and relatives.

His parents, five siblings, Estil Robertson, Ruby Meyers, Joyce Jaye, Dorothy Rollins, Sue Kirk and four infant Siblings, Jacklyn, Homer, Doyle and Evelyn, preceded him in death.

DAD

I DID NOT DIE
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP.
I AM NOT THERE, I DO NOT SLEEP.
I AM A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW.
I AM THE DIAMOND GLINTS ON SNOW.
I AM THE SUNLIGHT ON RIPENED GRAIN.
I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN RAIN.
WHEN YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING'S HUSH,
I AM THE SWIFT, UPLIFTING RUSH
OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLED FLIGHT.
I AM THE SOFT STAR THAT SHINES AT NIGHT.
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY.
I AM NOT THERE: I DID NOT DIE.
