Joseph Henry Graham, 81, one of the oldest residents of Cottonwood, died of a heart ailment at his residence on Walkers Lane.
A son of John M. and Jane Brandon Graham, original Utah pioneers, he was born Feb. 12, 1866, in Union, Salt Lake County. During the early days in Cottonwood he played the bass fiddle and called at old time square dances. A lover of the outdoors, he spent his time raising flowers and hunting and fishing in the mountains around Salt Lake City. He was a resident of Cottonwood 61 years and an active member of Cottonwood ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his widow, Arvilla Green Graham, whom he married in 1885 in Cottonwood; two daughters and a son, Mrs. Verna Neff, Mrs. Erma Bailey and Erman J. Graham all of Cottonwood; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Buxton, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Retta Bacchus, Stinnett, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
