Ms. Lois Carter Keene, 87, of Dunn died Saturday evening, May 21, 2016, at Huntington Health Care in Burgaw. She was born on October 13, 1928 to the late Arby Herring Carter and wife, Betty Lockerman Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Roy M. Keene, brothers, James O. Carter, John D. Carter, Paul Carter, David Carter, Frederick Carter, Odell Carter, Joseph Carter, Harry Carter and sister Dorothy Carter Wells.
Lois was retired from Champion Homes in Lillington, NC, J P Stevens in Wallace, NC and Holt Hosiery Penderlea, NC.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home by Rev. Randy Carter and Rev. Wayne Keene. Burial will be at Devotional Gardens.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne M. Keene and wife Sue of Wallace, Gary M. Keene and wife Darlene of Princeton, two daughters, Faye K. Carter and husband John of Jacksonville, Brenda Henderson and husband R.C. of Wilmington, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, brother, Rev. Dr. Herbert Carter and wife Mary of Dunn, and sister, Evelyn Carter Crawford and husband Rev. David Crawford of Goldsboro.
